William Humphrey Powers

William Humphrey Powers, 65, of Moultonborough, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.

He was born on November 5, 1949, in Newton, MA, the son of S. Russell and Elizabeth (Humphrey) Powers. Will was raised in Newton, attending local schools, graduating from the Newton North High School. He furthered his education at the Newton Junior College and Burdett College.

Will was the former President of the McQueen Insurance Agency, of Waltham, MA, later he owned and operated the William H. Powers Woodworking, Inc., where he made Shaker, Early American, and Country Furniture for many years. For the last 6 years he has run his own business.

For more than 20 years, William had served as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the town of Wayland, MA, and he was a Stephens Minister for the Moultonborough United Methodist Church. Will was also an avid fisherman and was an instructor for the NH Fish & Game Department.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marion H. (Trowbridge) Powers, of Moultonborough; daughter, Meredith Lupo and her husband Joe, of FL; granddaughter, Sara Lupo, of FL; his sister, Jayne Hughes; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Bill Mathrani; mother-in-law, Margery E. Trowbridge; nieces and nephews, Brett and Chad Mathrani, Michelle Silvia, Tracie Murphy, and Cheryl Walsh; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
