William Wheeler Hargreaves, 82, of Plymouth, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Laconia Genesis Eldercare, in Laconia, after a lengthy illness.
Born on March 3, 1932, in Lawrence, MA, he was the son of Harry D. and Marion (Wheeler) Hargreaves. Bill was raised in Methuen, MA, attending local schools. At the age of 20 he joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
At the completion of his service, Bill returned to the U.S. and started his 40 year long career at Caskraft Casket Co., while it was still located in MA. He and his wife Ruth retired to Plymouth from Hooksett in 1990. Bill retired from Wal-Mart at the age of 79 where he worked as a greeter.
Bill and Ruth are 24 year members of the Calvary Independent Baptist Church, in Plymouth; he served as an Usher for many years. Bill admired old cars and loved spending time working in his yard.
He is predeceased by his brother, Arthur Hargreaves.
Bill is survived by his beautiful wife of 32 years, Ruth Marie (Rogers) Hargreaves, of Plymouth; son, Kenneth William Hargreaves and wife Wendy, of Carrollton, GA; daughter, Dovie Olevia Hargreaves Underwood and husband Joe, of Lagrange, GA; daughter, Carolyn A. Hargreaves, of Anniston, AL; son, Wayne Hargreaves and wife Pam, of Birmingham, AL; brother, George Hargreaves and wife Pauline, of Methuen, MA; sister, Alma Healey, of Pelham, NH; he is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
