Obituary

Center Harbor, NH - William Peter Allen, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at his home in Center Harbor, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on March 11, 1947, in Laconia, New Hampshire, William was the son of the late Jesse and Violet (LaReau) Allen.

Known affectionately as "Wild Bill" or "Honky," William served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army and took great pride in his work. Beyond his military service, he had a deep love for staying active and enjoying the outdoors, whether golfing, skiing, playing basketball, boating, or marathon running.

In addition to his love of the outdoors, William was a devoted caregiver, father, husband, and truly a wonderful person to have in one's life. With a natural sense of humor and a quick wit, he was always cracking jokes and will be remembered as "the funny guy" by all who knew him.

William is survived by his loving wife, Lynn Allen, of Center Harbor, NH; his three daughters, Kimberly Auger and her husband Scott, of Sanbornton, NH; Cynthia Perry and her husband James, of Sierra Vista, Arizona; and Caroline Rykowski and her husband Joshua, of Evans, Georgia. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Jay Boyle and his wife Melissa, of Virginia, and Stephanie Payne and her husband Rob, of Georgia.

He leaves behind his eleven grandchildren: Eveline and her husband Brandon; Lilyana; Prue; Logan; Noah and his wife Aliona; Kai; Violet and her husband Ryan; Julianne and her husband Keith; Preston; Emmi; and Bryce; as well as his four step-grandchildren, Nathan, Stroud, Patrick, and Emma; and his three great-grandchildren, Atlas, Barbara, and Kambriella.

William was predeceased by his son, Kevin Parker Allen, and his brother, Chester Parker Allen.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Meredith Village Cemetery in Meredith, New Hampshire.
