Wallace J. Peltier, 82, of Thornton, passed away peacefully at his home on December 29, 2017.
Born in Lincoln, NH. on April 28, 1935, he was the son of Lawrence and Arline (Foley) Peltier.
Wally grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1953. He reside many years in the Lincoln, Woodstock, and Thornton area.
Wally enlisted in the Army, serving three years in the signal corps in Darmstadt, Germany. Upon his return home, he worked at the Franconia Paper Company. In 1960, Wally began his thirty-year career in Law Enforcement. He served on the Manchester, Plymouth and Woodstock Police Departments and he served the town of Lincoln as Chief of Police from 1976 to 1990. During he years as Chief, he helped create a very successful senior citizen daily welfare check program, "Good Morning Program", in Lincoln and North Woodstock. Wally was head of security at Loon Mountain Resort for ten years, and worked at Walmart in Plymouth as a greeter.
Wally was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, and collected sports memorabilia. He also enjoyed metal detecting.
Wally is survived by his loving wife Geri (Anderson) Peltier of Thornton, his sons, Brian Peltier of Lincoln, NH., Matthew Peltier and his wife Angel of Thornton, NH., his grandson, Blake Peltier of Thornton, NH., his step-daughter, Debbie Morris and her husband Robert of Lincoln, NH., two step-grandchildren, Kamriss Miller of North Woodstock, NH., Dakota Morris of Lincoln, NH., two brothers, Thomas Peltier and his wife Judy of Cape Coral, FL., Michael Peltier and his wife Corinne of Campton, NH., several nieces and nephews.
At Wally's request, there will be no services.
