Rev. Tolbert ("Tal") E. McNutt, 87, of Ridgeland, Mississippi, passed away on October 19, 2010.Born in New York City on October 17, 1923, Tal was raised in Englewood, NJ, and graduated from the Dwight Marrow High School. He went on to graduate from the Gordon College of Theology and Missions, in Boston, and the Gordon - Conwell Seminary, of Hamilton, MA.Tal served with honor and valor in the Army Air Corps for three and a half years during WWII. He served in Okinawa and in the Army of Occupation in Japan. Tal founded Christian Youth, Inc. in 1950, a ministry to teens. He was also the director of Boston Youth for Christ. In 1979 Tal started McNutt Ministries, Inc., an itinerant ministry of evangelism and Bible teaching in small churches, Christian Camps and conferences, Christian Schools, and short-term foreign missions ministry.He was the executive director for the New England Fellowship, Inc., and the Rumney Bible Conference for 17 years. Tal also was the founder of the Happy T (Teen) Ranch, in Stinson Lake (now called the White Mountain Ranch).Tal is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn B. McNutt; two daughters, Cynthia Assink and husband Rev. Michael, of Wesson, MS, and Marcia Mielke, of Williams Bay, WI; and two grandsons, Seth Assink, of Biloxi, MS, and Stephen Assink, of Charlottesville, VA.Memorials:In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Tal's memory to the White Mt. /HTR Scholarship Fund.Service:A Funeral Service will be held at the Rumney Bible Conference, Route 25, Rumney, NH, on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at 1:00 pm. Cemetery:Interment will follow the service at the Immanuel Memorial Cemetery, in Rumney.
