June 7, 1954 — November 9, 2024

Thomas Michael Fay of Alexandria, NH, 70, passed away peacefully on November 9th at Concord Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Brookline, MA to the late Thomas J. Fay, Jr. and Catherine M. (Mikorzewski) Fay. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 49 years Deborah J. (Earley) Fay, his children Sean T. Fay and his wife Cheryl of Mount Pleasant, SC, Kimberly G. (Fay) Boncher and her husband Phil of Santee, CA, Thomas M. Fay, Jr. (deceased), Kelly J. Fay of Alexandria, NH and Michael J. Fay and his wife Carolyn of Milton, MA. Tom was dear brother to Kathleen D. (Fay) Dalzell, Carol A. Fay and the deceased Michael J. Fay & Patricia M. Fay. Tom was also beloved “Grampy” to Mikayla, Makenzie and Makenna Fay, Jill and Tommy Boncher, Lily Stone and Emily, Colby and Molly Fay. And lastly, Tom leaves behind his beloved dog Otis, who still waits for him on the front porch.

Tom was a Brookline firefighter for over 33 years. He recently retired and moved with his wife Deborah to Newfound Lake where he grew up spending summers as a kid, and later as a father and grandfather. Tom’s greatest passion was being on the water with his fly rod in hand. He spent endless hours fly fishing, meticulously loving to tie his own flies. He spent many years on multiple fishing boards, including Trout Unlimited. Tom loved teaching his grandchildren how to fish, and anyone else for that matter, who wanted to learn how to fly fish. He also had a passion for Lab dogs and enjoyed watching birds and identifying them for his nine loving grandchildren. Tom was also an avid Boston sports fan of the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can please be made to the American SIDS Foundation ( https://sids.org/ways-to-help/donate/ ).

A celebration of life will be held at a later date next summer by Newfound Lake, where Tom loved to be. Tom will be greatly missed by his family and friends
