Thelma Diltz passed away peacefully at her home in Moultonborough at the age of 86 on Christmas Day.
She was born to Frank & Mildred (Whiting) Reed in Tuftonboro, NH and graduated from Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro. She and her husband Melvin (Bud) Diltz moved to California shortly after being married to pursue his military career. They had four sons, Melvin (Buddy), Steven, Jeffery, and Gregory.
They moved back to Moultonborough in 1976 to be close to family. Thelma worked for many years at Moultonborough Academy where she was fondly known as The Lunch Lady.
Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Bud, and her son, Buddy. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Marion Pike, Joyce Bean, Shirley Tarbell and 2 brothers, David (Tom) Reed and Robert Reed. She leaves her sons, Steven, Jeffery and his wife Lynn, Greg and his wife Meg and 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and was so proud of, along with many nieces and nephews.
Thelma will be interred at the Veteran's Cemetery in Boscawen in the spring. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to VNA or Hospice in Thelma's name.
