Moultonborough-Tazewell Brooke Amiss, 74 died peacefully Oct. 23, 2014 as a result of Alzheimer's disease, with his wife of 51 years, Susan by his side.
Born in Malden, MA. , Brooke spent his youth in Kingston, N.H. and Melrose, MA. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked in the auto industry for over fifty years in positions of sales, management and ownership receiving many awards during his career. His love of cars was demonstrated by his enthusiasm for his work as well as by his enjoyment of the cars he collected.
Brooke and Susan spent over 35 years at their home on Winnipesaukee's Long Island and while there, he loved working around the yard with the birds, animals and his daffodils. His reverence for nature was a subject often expressed through his poetry. He loved to read and enjoyed many travel adventures. Brooke's keen sense of humor will be remembered as a hi-light of his personality among his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Susan; his son, Brooke and granddaughter, Shannon of MA.; sisters Adele Foley of Wakefield, MA., Carol Gibbons, of Chelmsford, MA., Gertrude Gray and husband Arthur of Leesburg, FL. and many nieces and nephews.
