Stephen Allen Small, 60, of Upper Mad River Road, died suddenly on April 12, 2014, in Campton.
 
 
 Born in Salem, Massachusetts on May 22, 1953, Stephen was the son of Leonard and Edna (Bell) Small.
 
 
 Stephen grew up in Peabody, MA and graduated from Peabody High School. He went on the attended two years at Essex Agricultural School, in Middleton, MA. He resided in the Peabody area for many years and has been a resident of Thornton for the past sixteen years.
 
 
 Stephen worked as truck driver for the Persons Concrete Company in Campton for over fifteen years. He also owned and operated S.A. Small, a wood and yard maintenance business, in Campton.
 
 
 Stephen had a love for drag racing. He owned his own dragster and enjoyed racing at Epping Drag way, in Epping, NH. Stephen also enjoyed mentoring children who were interested in working on cars and trucks.
 
 
 Stephen is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Maureen (O'Brien) Small of Thornton, a sister, Virginia Shelton, and a niece, Ruth Freitas, both of Haverhill, MA, many cousins and friends.
