Stanley Edwin Batchelder, 78, of Rumney, passed away unexpectedly at the Catholic Medical Center, in Manchester, on July 26, 2010.Born in Ellsworth, NH, on October 8, 1931, he was the son of Allie E. and Stella (Kenneson) Batchelder. Stanley was raised in Ellsworth, attending the Little Red School House, graduating from the Brawley School in West Campton. After graduating Stanley was drafted in the U.S. Army and served his country proudly with honor during the Korean War.He was an employee of the Draper Company for twenty four years, and also worked for the Plymouth Manufacturing Company. Stanley was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping; he loved gardening and spending time with his beloved friends and family.Stanley is predeceased by a step-son and step-daughter, John Robert Dionne, Jr., and Marie Elizabeth McCrae; and his two brothers, Sterle and Ralph Batchelder.He is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Lucille (Morse), of Rumney; a daughter, Shirley Batchelder, of Thornton; a brother, Arnold Batchelder, of Orleans, MI; a sister, Bertha Duncklee, of Rumney; a step-daughter, Sandra MacDonald and husband, Clyde, of Belmont; five step-grandchildren, Ann Marie Cohen, Robin Sanborn, John Dionne, Jr., Randy MacDonald, and Robert McCrae; he is also survived by fourteen great step-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.Memorials:Donations may be made in Stanley's memory to a charity of one's choice.Service:A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 2:30 pm in the Highland Cemetery, Quincy Rd, Rumney.
