IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Simone Ann
Sampson
August 16, 1945 – February 9, 2026
Simone Anne Sampson of Moultonborough, NH passed away on February 9th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Simone was born in 1945 in Melrose, Massachusetts.
Simone courageously battled Multiple Sclerosis for 53 years - far longer than the average course of the disease - meeting every challenge with strength, optimism, and grace.
Simone was raised in Melrose by her parents Rene' and Lucy Foure's. After graduating from high school Simone worked as an executive secretary for a vice president of Digital Equipment Corporation.
In 1965 Simone married Paul Sampson and together they raised two sons, David and Dennis.
Simone was diagnosed with MS at the age of 27. After joining two M.S. Support Groups Simone and Paul quickly realized the severity of the illness and how it would affect her lifestyle and life expectancy. Together they made a conscious decision to live life fully while they were able.
That decision led to a lifetime of unforgettable experiences. Simone and Paul traveled extensively, enjoying many cruises as well as trips throughout the US and Mexico. They also embarked on a ten-week trek across Europe, visiting destinations such as the Riviera, the Vatican, the Monaco Grand Prix and cruising along the Seine River - memories that would be cherished forever.
After purchasing a home in Moultonborough, NH, they joined the local snowmobile club. Among the many trips they took, the most memorable was the ten-day trip the club took to Yellowstone. On the first day of the trip, temperatures reached an astonishing -25 degrees! Simone, by that time required a walker and a cane to get around, yet she never missed an event riding on the back of a snowmobile, fully embracing the experience. On the last day of the trip the group honored Simone with a standing ovation - a testament to her determination and spirit.
Simone will be remembered by her many friends for her unwavering upbeat attitude, warm smile and spirit.
Simone leaves behind her devoted husband, Paul. Her two sons David and Dennis; Dennis' partner, Jennifer Poore and her former daughter-in-law, Kim Sampson. She is also survived by four Grandchildren who she adored; Mikayla, Dylan, Katie (Children of Dennis and Kim) and Bella (child of David).
Simone also leaves a brother, Alan (Foure's), sisters Dennise (Allbu) and Yvonne (Iverson), her in-laws, David and Trudy (Sampson) and Leonard and Carol (Sampson) as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She also leaves, their dear friends of 60 years, Bob and Linda Lundgren.
The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Lakes Regional Visiting Nurses Assoc. and especially to Cindy Smith and nurses Shannon Keeler, and Brook Pearsall for the exceptional and compassionate care the LRVNA has provided to Simone over many years, including two periods of Home Hospice.
A celebration of Simone's life will be announced at a later time.
