Sharlie P. (White) Smith, 62, of Rumney, passed away peacefully at her home on October 7, 2013 after a long illness.
She was born in Plymouth on April 20, 1951 to Charlie and Eva (Albert) White.
She grew up in Rumney and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1969.
Sharlie worked for 15 years at Speare Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aid before becoming a homemaker to raise her three children.
Button collecting was a hobby special to Sharlie's heart. She was vice president of the Belknap Button Club and a member of the NH State Button Society. Pen pal writing was another enjoyment in her life. She made many dear friends across the country. Gardening and cooking also brought her much joy.
Members of her family include her husband of 42 years, Donald J. Smith of Rumney; her daughter Jennifer Smith of Thornton; her son Thomas Smith and his wife Rebecca of Bennington; her daughter Carrie Vermokowitz and her husband David of Hopkinton; three grandchildren; her sister Beverly (White) Kula and her husband Sidney of Rumney; her brother Dennis E. White and his wife Heidi of Plymouth; her best friend of many years Joanne Jette of Rumney; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Charlie White of Rumney and her brother Joseph White of Wentworth.
