Obituary

MOULTONBORO --- Scott Evan Trexler, 61, of Moultonboro, NH, passed away unexpectedly at home on May 8th, 2026. Scott was born in Manchester, CT on February 14th, 1965, the youngest son of Richard and Betty Trexler. He attended Moultonboro Academy (NH) and graduated from Fryeburg Academy (ME).

From childhood onward, Scott found purpose and built community at Trexler's Marina on Lake Winnipesaukee. In 1972, his parents, Richard and Betty, purchased Moultonboro Marine, later renamed Trexler's Marina. At that young age of seven, Scott could always be found around the docks with a fishing rod in hand. As he grew older, his love of the water expanded to boating and sailing, zooming around the bay and having fun with friends.

After his father passed away unexpectedly in 1980 at the age of 48, Scott began helping out more around the marina as a teenager. Over time, he worked his way up to sales associate, where his larger-than-life personality really shined. His success in sales came naturally through his ability to connect with customers over a shared love of the lake. He worked hard to grow his knowledge on every aspect of the marine industry by attending dealer meetings with Betty and completing marine sales training programs through the Marine Retailers Association of the Americas (MRAA). In the late 1990's, he served on the board of directors of the MRAA for a short period of time. He gradually took on more and more responsibilities from Betty as the years passed, eventually assuming the role of general manager. Scott wore many hats, able to serve the marina's needs in whatever capacity was required, whether it be in sales, rental, service, or parts. He was well known around the lake for being an approachable and dependable marine expert, with a genuine passion for helping boaters.

Scott is remembered most by his gift for enjoying life to its fullest, which includes giving the best hugs. He had a sharp, witty humor and his contagious laugh could easily be heard from another room. The love he held for his wife, Denise, was evident by anyone just in the way he looked at her. He was deeply proud of his children and adored his rambunctious Welsh terrier, Bertie. He appreciated nature with his numerous game cameras and enjoyed spending time camping with his family throughout his life. He was famous for counting down the days until Labor Day, particularly in recent years, as he looked forward to spending winters in Florida with his wife. His love of boating and fishing travelled easily with them to warmer shores.

Scott is predeceased by his father, Richard Trexler. He is survived by his mother, Betty Trexler of Pembroke; his loving wife, Denise Trexler of Moultonboro; his daughter, Stephanie Lin and her husband, Ken Lin, of Guilford, CT; his son, Quinlan Trexler and his partner,

Isabelle Meszar, of Franklin; his three brothers and their spouses, Ronald and Caroline Trexler of Manchester, Keith Trexler and Ellen Vera of Milford, and Jeffrey and Marcia Trexler of Dunbarton; Caelyn Viteritti and Elysia Casey; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at the Mayhew Funeral Home in Meredith, NH on Thursday May 21st from 5-7 pm. A celebration of life and private burial will follow later in the fall. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Heart Association and/or the Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance on behalf of Scott's memory.
