Samuel W. Gammons, 87 of Englewood, FL, formerly of Nashua, NH, passed away on July 26, 2017. Samuel was born on February 28, 1930 in Plymouth, NH. He was the son of the late Samuel W. Gammons and Marguerite (Dexter) Gammons.
Samuel was a lifelong Boston Red Sox and New England Patriot fan, an avid book reader and student of history. A graduate of Plymouth State College, he started out as an English and Social Studies teacher and later worked for the Social Security Administration.
Samuel is survived by his wife of 66 years Norma (Miclon) Gammons of Englewood, FL, daughter Janet Ballman of Dayton, OH and son Thomas Gammons of Englewood, FL. Four grandchildren, Thomas Aron Gammons of Lake Wales, FL, Brian Gammons of Ashland, NH, Travis Ballman and Matthew Ballman of Dayton, OH and four great-grandchildren, Carson, Lily Beth, Sailor and Sadie Jane Gammons of Lake Wales, FL. Samuel is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
Family viewing will be held Wednesday, August 2nd, at Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth at 11am, with a graveside service to will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Fairgrounds Rd., Plymouth at 2:00pm.
