Roland Niebels, 84, of Plymouth, New Hampshire, born May 7, 1938, passed away at his home on December 1, 2022.
Born in Coventry, RI, he was the son of LTC Alva and Alice (Jimmy) Niebels. Roland graduated from Coventry High School and went on to serve 3 years in the U.S. army.
After working a number of assorted odd jobs, Roland landed on a career in carpentry.
Roland certainly was a character. He lived his life with a carefree spirit. A nature and arts lover, Roland was always eager to support musical and theatrical performances.
After having lived in Providence, RI for many years, Roland relocated to New Hampshire to spend the remainder of his days in the Plymouth, NH area. Ultimately, Roland spent his last years living in the Boulder Point Veterans housing. He enjoyed many friendships through the veteran community as well as the AA fellowship.
His big laugh, spirited opinions, and gregarious nature will be missed.
Roland was predeceased by one brother, Richard Niebels of Centennial, Colorado
Roland leaves behind four sons: Christopher and his wife, Minh Ha of Winchester, VA; Matthew of Orange, CT; Joshua and Daniel of Providence, RI, and eight grandchildren.
A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday December 10, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the Blair Cemetery in Campton, New Hampshire located on Blair Road. A celebration of Roland's life will be held immediately following the service.
