Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Robert C. "Woodie" Woodworth, 85 of Moultonborough, NH passed away at his home on November 11, 2016. Robert was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 5, 1931, son of the late George Walton and Minerva B. (Cuthbert) Woodworth. He grew up in Maple Shade, New Jersey in his younger years. Robert was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Jane (Crouse) Woodworth who passed away in 2013.
Robert retired from the United State Army as a Lieutenant Colonel where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal, he served in Korea and Vietnam. In his later years he owned and operated the Silver Stagg Cottages in Moultonborough. He was also a member of the Masonic Red Mountain Lodge # 68 in Center Sandwich.
Robert was predeceased by several siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews who reside in New Hampshire and New Jersey.
SERVICES: Family and friend will honor and remember Woodie's life by gathering for calling hours in the Mayhew Funeral Home, 204 Daniel Webster Hwy. (Rte. 3 & Rte. 104) Meredith on Friday November 18th from 4:00 to 6:30 PM Followed by a Masonic Service at 6:30pm and a prayer service at 6:45pm. Burial with Full Military Honors was held on June 14, 2017 at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
