Robert Williams, 83, of Moultonborough, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 16, 2010.Born on April 29, 1926 in Northampton, MA, he was raised and attended schools in the Northampton - Ashfield area. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served until 1946. He was awarded the American Area Campaign Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal. Robert worked for the Scott and Williams Co. (formerly of Lakeport), as a machinist for 31 years, he retired from Comstock Industries, of Meredith 18 years ago. Some of Robert's hobbies included, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, racing cars, gardening, and feeding the wildlife on his property. Robert is predeceased by his mother, Hazel E. Williams-McTurk; a son, Stacy Williams; and his faithful companion "Taz", a chocolate lab. He is survived by his wife of forty five years, Jean E. (Birge) Williams, of Moultonborough; four daughters, Jari Bonenfant-Williams, of Merrimack, Staci Williams, of Moultonborough, Cheryl Williams, of Lowell, MA, and Julie Booska, of Belmont, NH; he is also survived by his dear friend Sam and his family.Memorials:Donations may be made in Robert's name to the NH Humane Society.Visitation:Calling hours will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010, from 6 thru 8 pm, at Mayhew Funeral Home, Rtes. 3 and 104, Meredith.Cemetery:Interment will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.
