Robert L. Smith, 79, passed away on May 29, 2024, at Concord Hospital.
Robert was born on July 25, 1944, to the late Lee and Viola (Mudgett) Smith.
Robert was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965 and was stationed in Germany. After two years in Germany, he remained in the active reserves for two years until his discharge in April of 1971. Upon returning to Meredith, he worked at the asbestos factory where his dad worked from 1967 until 1977. He then switched to working at a wood factory and finally at Hannaford's in Meredith.
He enjoyed reading westerns and any books by James Patterson. He loved his cats, especially his last one, Rascal.
Robert is survived by his brother Richard (Marion) Smith of Center Harbor and many nieces and nephews.
Robert Smith will be buried on July 3, 2024, at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
