Robert L Rohrer

November 14, 1935 — July 11, 2023

Robert L. Rohrer passed away peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by his family on July 11, 2023.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Marilyn E Rohrer and his four children: Robert L. Rohrer, Jr of Amherst, NH; Thomas E. Rohrer of Newton, MA; Sharon A. Martin of Stoneham; MA; and Patricia R. Babb of Milton, MA. He was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren: Colin, Maisy, Courtney, Harrison, Kasey, Sam, Kylie, Grace, Emma, Jason, and Lilly.

Born on November 14, 1935, in Rochester, New York, Bob was the son of Henry and Anne Rohrer and the brother of Patricia, Henry, and Richard Rohrer. Bob attended Providence College and Niagara University and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. He was asuccessful executive at the Xerox Corporation for over 30 years and finished his remarkable career with Paychex. Bob and Marilyn raised their four children primarily in Pittsford, New York, Canandaigua, NY and New Canaan, CT. They enjoyed their early retirement years on Martha's Vineyard and most recently spent their summers in Meredith, NH and winters in Naples, FL.

From lake life on Canandaigua and Winnipesauke lakes to sailing trips around Long Island Sound, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard and Block Island, so many family memories were formed. Bob and Marilyn also had many adventures bringing their boat down the intercoastal to and from Naples. Bob was most at home near the water; a passion he shared with his family.

One of his favorite hobbies was antique cars. He owned and restored award-winning,
spectacular cars with vintages from 1905 through 1941. In addition to thrilling the grandchildren with rides for ice cream, he and Marilyn loved their antique car trips with friends in their antique car clubs from around the region.

Bob's biggest love was for his beloved wife and family. He was the ultimate doting grandfather and proud patriarch of his extended family. His sharp intellect, quick wit, and innate ability to connect with people were truly special and will be deeply missed.

A private family gathering to celebrate Bob and his wonderful life will be held on August 5th at 10am at St. Charles church in Meredith NH, with a memorial planned in Naples, Florida later this year.
