Robert D. Olmstead

Robert D. Olmstead, 72, of Plymouth, died March 26, 2010, at Genesis Elder Care in Laconia.     Born in Montreal Quebec on February 17, 1938, he was the son of Dr. Shirley H. MD and Helen O. [MacGregor] Olmstead.     He grew up in Plymouth and graduated from Holderness School, Holderness.  He also graduated from Plymouth Teachers College, now Plymouth State University, in Plymouth.  He resided in the Boston area for many years and returned to Plymouth in the early 1980's.     He worked for many years in the designer clothes industry in Boston and then at the Lamson Library, at Plymouth State College, Plymouth.     He was an active member of the Plymouth Historical Society.      He is survived by his brother, Dr. John P. Olmstead, MD of Plymouth, nephews, Jack, and Peter, nieces, Jennifer, and Janel, several great nieces and nephews.Visitation:A calling hour will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St, Plymouth, on Saturday, from 10am to 11am.Service:A service will follow the calling hour at 11am.Cemetery:A graveside service will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Plymouth, at the convenience of the family.
