Robert Howard McGee, 93, of McGee Avery Road, Thornton, died November 28, 2015, at his home after a long illness.
Born in Lincoln, NH on April 3, 1922, he was the son of John and Mildred (Leonard) McGee.
Robert grew up in Lincoln and attended Lincoln Schools. He has been resident of Thornton since 1967.
Robert worked for thirty-three years for the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation and he also served the town of Thornton as a police officer for twenty-eight years, seventeen of those as Chief, until his retirement in 1983.
Robert served the town as, the Health Officer, Truant Officer, Civil Defense Commissioner, and the Overseer of the Poor.
Robert was a US Army Air Corp World War II veteran.
Robert is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Barbara M. (Downing) McGee of Thornton, his daughter, Sharon B. Avery of Thornton, grandsons, Corey J Avery of Thornton, Ryan R. Avery of Campton, two great grandchildren, Noah and Abigail, nieces and nephews.
