Richard Michael Monty

Richard Michael Monty, Sr., 61, of Warren, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Speare Memorial Hospital, in Plymouth.
Born on November 23, 1953, in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of Norman and Dorothy (Roderiques) Monty. Richard was raised in New Bedford and attended local schools. After graduating high school he was drafted into the U.S. Navy and he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Richard loved riding his Harley-Davidson Custom Road King, and appreciated other motorcycles as well. He was an avid fisher and enjoyed outdoor activities in general. He will be lovingly remembered by his family as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and good friend to all those who knew him.
He is survived by his significant other, Christina Creonte, of Warren; his sons, Richard M. Monty, Jr., and his wife Jennifer, of Meredith, David R. Monty and his wife Trisha, also of Meredith; five grandchildren, Ashley, Damien, Richard III, Nick, and Jon; a great-grandson, Declan; his brother, Steven, of MA; three sisters, Deborah, of FL, Sandy, of ME, and Michelle, of FL; a step-brother, Barry, and many nieces and nephews.
