Richard Roy Mansur

November 14, 1941 — May 2, 2015

Richard Roy Mansur, 73, of Moultonborough, formerly of Reading, MA, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015, surrounded by his family at the Goldenview Health Care Center, in Meredith, following a brief illness.

Richard was born on November 14, 1941, in Boston, MA, the son of Richard L. and Elizabeth (Beam) Mansur. He was raised in Reading, MA, graduating from the Reading Memorial High School, 'Class of 1959. Richard furthered his education at the Cushing Academy, Norwich University, and North Eastern University.

He served as a Guardsman with the Massachusetts National Guard during the Vietnam War.

Richard had "In Care" status with the Greater Boston Association of the United Church of Christ and was the Pastor's Assistant and Youth Director with the 1st Church in Malden, congregational for many years; he then moved into his career in banking, working for many local banks in Massachusetts, before ending his career with the FDIC, in Washington, D.C., as a structural engineer for twenty years.

Richard was very active in communities both in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and was an active member in several clubs and organizations including: serving on the board of the Malden, MA Red Cross, a member of the Malden Industrial Aid Society, he was on the founding board of A.C.I.D., in Malden, he served on the board of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra, he was president of the Greater Stoneham Community Concerts, he was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for Troop #535, in Stoneham during the 1980's, he was a past president of the Meredith Yacht Club. Richard also loved to sing and was a member of several Choruses throughout the years, he sang with the Pemigewassett Choral Society, the NH Music Festival Chorus, and the Washington, D.C. Choral Arts Society.

Richard was a 50 year Master Mason with the Good Samaritan Lodge A.F. & A.M., in Reading, MA.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family as a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather, and he will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Susan C. (Lawson) Mansur, of Moultonborough; son, Clark A. Mansur and wife Wendy, of Moultonborough; grandchildren, Alyssa Marie and Mary Allison, both of Moultonborough; brother, John K. Mansur and wife Peggy, of Wales, ME; sister-in-law, Jane Bonaccorso and husband Robert, of Grants Pass, OR; nieces, Cheryl Dudus and husband Roman, of Cromwell, CT, Laura Reeves, of Grants Pass, OR; nephews, Matthew Mansur, of Wales, ME, Adam Mansur and his life partner Sarah Sillin, of Takoma Park, MD, Daniel Reeves and wife Jamie, of Roseburg, OR.
