Richard Franklin LaPlante, Sr., 86, of Moultonborough, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
Born in Center Harbor on December 14, 1926, he was the son of Alfred Napoleon and Hazel Leona (Shorley) LaPlante. Richard was raised in Center Harbor graduating from the Quimby School, Center Sandwich, class of 1944. After graduating high school, Richard enlisted with the U.S. Navy and served his country with honor during World War II.
Richard was a life-long resident of the greater Center Harbor area and was self employed for many years as the proprietor of Artisan Plumbing. He is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be truly missed by his family and many friends throughout the area.
He is predeceased by his grandson, Jeremy LaPlante, in 1998.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 65 ½ years, Louise (Faxson) LaPlante, of Moultonborough; daughter, Cathleen Everbeck and husband Robert, of Fitchburg, MA; sons, Richard F. LaPlante, Jr. and wife Daphne, of Alton, NH, Roland LaPlante and wife Anne, of Frazer, PA, Raymond LaPlante and wife Wendy, of Fremont, NH; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
