HOLDERNESS --- It is with deep sadness that we announce Richard “Dick” Cote passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on April 14, 2025, at Concord Hospital - Laconia after suffering medical complications from his recent blindness.
Dick came into this world in 1941 as the second child of David and Ethel Cote. He was raised in the mill town of Beebe River and later moved to Plymouth where he met his
beloved wife of 56 years, Helen. Together they started a home and family in Holderness where he remained for 60 years until weeks before his passing.
Dick spent the majority of his life working as a carpenter, building much of the area surrounding Plymouth and beyond. Once touted as the best carpenter in New England by a
former boss, he took incredible love and pride in ensuring is work was not only what the customers wanted but more, always giving 110% on every job he did, and would last long after it was completed.
Dick is survived by his son, Rick; daughter-in-law, Dori; and grandson, Bryce; his two remaining sisters, Marie Cormier and Judy Robb; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he could name by name and loved dearly. He also cherished all his close friends and former in-laws and would not turn his back on anyone who came into his life.
Dick will be greatly missed by all, but at this time the family is honoring his wishes and will have no services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local school building trades program in his honor.
