Richard James Barrett, Jr., of Moultonborough, NH, formerly of Lawrence, MA, passed away tragically in a car accident on Saturday, March 27, 2010.Richard was born in Lawrence, MA on June 6, 1977; he was the son of Richard J. and Alane (O'Connor) Barrett, Sr. Richard was raised in Lawrence, he attended the St. Patrick's Grammar School, and was an altar boy for St. Patrick's Parish, of Lawrence.In 1991 Richard and his family moved to Moultonborough, after spending many summers in the area. He attended the Moultonborough Academy for four years. Richard loved the lakes, outdoor activities, spending time with his family, which includes his nieces, parents, sister, his beloved dog Madison, and his many friends from the Moultonborough area. Richard also enjoyed spending time working on cars.Richard is survived by his parents, Richard J. and Alane (O'Connor) Barrett, Sr., of Moultonborough; a sister, Courtney Walker, of Meredith; two nieces, Olivia and Ruby Walker, of Meredith; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his dog, Madison.Memorials:In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 NH Rt. 25, Meredith, NH.Visitation:Calling hours will be held at Mayhew Funeral Home (Rtes. 3 and 104), Meredith, on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 from 6 thru 8 pm. Service:A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 NH Rt. 25, Meredith, on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 11:00 am. The Very Rev. Dennis J. Audet, V.F., pastor, will officiateCemetery:Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
