Richard "Dick" T. Adams, 71 of Follett Road passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends. Dick was born January 25th, 1946 in Laconia, NH to Wesley and Helen Adams.
He graduated from Laconia High School in 1964 and began his career at Irwin Marine as a boat mechanic. He then worked for over 20 years at Mcgreevy Buick Cadillac as a mechanic and parts manager before opening his own automotive repair and service business.
Dick spent over 20 years in the Army Reserve where he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was a member of the Meredith Lions Club and volunteered for many civic organizations.
Dick was predeceased by his wife Jan of 34 years who died in 2003. Survivors include his son Jeff, daughter Carrie, grandchildren Haylie and Connor, and brother Bill.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 18th from 6 to 8pm at Mayhew Funeral Home, 204 Daniel Webster Highway, Meredith NH.
A private family burial at Oakland Cemetery in Meredith Center will be held at a later date.
