Reidun S. Lewis

Reidun Lewis, 77, of Stinson Lake, Rumney, NH died peacefully on October 5, 2015 surrounded by her children.

Reidun was born on July 30, 1938 in Kristiansand, Norway to her parents, Haakon and Kari (Kaddeberg) Skaar. After the German invasion of Norway during WWII she and her family moved to Finsland, Norway to live on her grandparent's farm. At war's end in 1945 the family moved back to Kristiansand. In 1956 she graduated from Drottningborg Handelsskole in Grimstad, Norway. In 1961 she travelled, first to London for 6 months, then onto the United States. There she met and married Michael W. Lewis in 1963.

Reidun had a rich and varied career as a waitress, real estate agent, general store proprietor, and owner of Midnight Sun Imports. She was active politically as a local member of the Democratic party and she was always ready and willing to participate in a lively conversation involving politics or world events. She was also a member of the Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael W. Lewis Sr, who died on July 15th of this year.

Reidun is survived by her children, Michael Jr. of Rumney, NH, Christine and her husband Michael Manning of Rumney, NH, Timothy and wife LeeAnn of Rumney, NH, and Andrew and wife Camille of Milton, MA; her sister, Anne Berit Kronberg and husband Svein of Kristiansand, Norway; brother Dagfin Skaar and wife Hilbjorg; brother Sverre Skaar; and three grandchildren, Courtney, Kelsey, and Bella.
