Raymond Lester Downs

Raymond L. Downs, Jr. (89) of Campton, New Hampshire passed away on July 23, 2018 following a brief illness.
He is survived bRy his wife of 68 years, Elaine (Brown) Downs, his four children: Susan Schlegel (Needham, MA), Deborah White (Rockland, MA), Sharon Salomon Dunigan (Campton, NH), Jeffrey Downs (Bolton Valley, VT), and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Barbara (Downs) Farrar of Gorham, ME.
Raymond is the son of Raymond L. Downs Sr. and Evelyn (Bailey) Downs of Bangor, Maine. He graduated from the University of Maine-Orono and the University of Rochester.
A resident of Greece, NY (1951-1987), Ray was a Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed playing in a volunteer jazz band, skiing, boating, traveling, and the family camp in the Adirondack Mountains. Ray, an Industrial Engineer, worked 35 years for Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, NY. After retirement, Ray and Elaine settled in central New Hampshire, living in Campton and Holderness.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon Street, Plymouth, NH 03264. Visiting at 2:00 PM. Funeral service at 2:30 PM. Private burial on Saturday.
