Ralph W. Larson, Jr.

May 1, 1936 — March 31, 2025

HEBRON, NH -- Ralph Larson of Hebron, NH passed March 31, 2025, at the age of 88. Born May 1st, 1936, Ralph grew up in Stoneham, MA graduating in 1954. From there he went to Northeastern University, where he had a co-op position at Chrysler. After graduating in 1959, he began a career in the Defense industry, which spanned working on parts for the Apollo 11 spacecraft, and putting glasses on the Hubble space telescope.

Outside of work Ralph was an avid hiker, climbing all of the 4,000 footers in New Hampshire and completing the Long Trail in Vermont over 2 years with his son. Ralph extended his love of the outdoors with Bedford Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in the late 70’s/early 80s. Many of the scouts remember their time fondly and credit him with their own love of the outdoors.

Ralph also loved auto racing and attended many races and watched many more. In his later years, he would plan his weekend around the F1 series.

Starting in 1992, Ralph spent time doing genealogy research. Through this research, he found that his ancestors built and owned the Mayflower.

After retiring, he and his wife moved to Hebron, NH – a place that was special from their days with scouts camping on the islands at Wellington State Park. In retirement, he spent time travelling the country, researching the family, and eating at his favorite restaurant, Annie’s. During this time, he was also active with the Pemi Baker Valley Republican Committee. He ran for New Hampshire State Rep in 2012.

Ralph leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Karyl, a son Erick Larson, and a daughter Bethanne Novak, and her husband Gil. His 4 grandchildren - Rene Larson, Marco Larson, Jennifer Daigle, and Jake Novak - were his pride and joy. He also leaves behind a sister, Judy, 2 cousins and 5 nieces and nephews.
