Quisa J. Blodgett, 69, of Groton, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy illness.Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, on September 7, 1941, she was the daughter Arlie K. and Cora I. (Chase) Arbuckle. Quisa was raised in Wichita Falls, attended schools there, and resided there until meeting her husband Gerald, who was stationed at the Sheppard Air Force Base, in Wichita Falls. Quisa and Gerald moved across the country several times while raising their four children as Gerald was often transferred for duty throughout his twenty year career with the Air Force.She was always involved in the extra-curricular and sporting activities that her children were a part of. Quisa was an extremely skilled seamstress working many years at Plymouth Stitching in Ashland, NH, she was also very involved in the family's Septic Service and Plowing business, running it after Gerald passed away for many years, right up to when she started getting ill two years ago. Quisa loved animals, she was an avid breeder of birds, and kept many exotic breeds.Quisa is predeceased by her beloved husband of 39 years, Gerald F. Blodgett; and two brothers, Lewis and Presley Arbuckle.She is survived by her four children; Russell Blodgett and wife Katie, of Rumney, and Darrell Blodgett, of Fairbanks, Alaska;  Kelly Howe and husband Brock, of Hardyville, VA, and Stacey Blodgett and Partner Alicia Coffee, of Penacook;  two brothers, Kenneth Arbuckle, of Somerton, SC, and Gene Arbuckle, of Wichita Falls, TX; two sisters, Mildred Thompson, of Wichita Falls, TX, and Norma Clark, of Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Jeremiah Estes, Riley Howe, Alexandra Coffee, Blaine and Kaitlin Blodgett and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Quisa's good friend and employee Niles Layman. Memorials:Donations may be made in Quisa's memory to a charity of one's choice. A Celebration of Life following the funeral at the Rumney Baptist Ministry Center 375 Main Street, Rumney NH.Visitation:Calling hours will be held at Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth, on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 6:00 pm thru 8:00 pm.Service:A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Foster Cemetery, Route 25, Wentworth.
