TUFTONBORO---Priscilla M. Hoagland, (80), passed away on Sunday March 25, 2018 at the Wolfeboro Bay Center.
Priscilla was born on February 8, 1938 in Laconia, NH the daughter of, Hayden and Christine Weeks (Sheldon).
Priscilla grew up in the Lakes Region attending the Meredith School District. After high school, she worked in Meredith as a waitress, before moving to New Jersey to work as a nanny. While she was working in New Jersey, she met her future husband of 59 years, William "Bill". After they were married, Priscilla and William moved back to Meredith to raise their family. In 2002 Priscilla suffered a stroke which left her in need of nursing care. Priscilla spent several years at Goldenview in Meredith NH but more recently she moved to Wolfeboro Bay Nursing Home in NH where she was truly happy and enjoyed the last several months of her life.
Priscilla had many interests, but loved gardening, planting flowers, tending to her fruit garden, especially walking through the woods to find new plants to add to her garden. She truly loved the outdoors and what nature had to offer. She enjoyed cooking, teaching at the Squam Lakes Science Center, working a summer on the M/S Mount Washington, but her true love was her husband and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband; William of Tuftonboro, NH, two sons; Arthur Hoagland of Tampa, FL, William of St. Petersburg, FL, her daughter; Patricia Hoagland of Tuftonboro, NH, her brothers; Bob, James, Peter and Jack, one sister; Mary Ann and many nieces and nephews as well as one grandchild and one great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her parents and one brother; Hayden.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations can be made in Priscilla's memory to the, Meredith Visiting Nurses Association, 186 Waukewan St. Meredith, NH 03253.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
