Phyllis J. Williams, 75, formerly of Plymouth, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Goldenview Health Care Center, in Meredith with her beloved daughter by her side after a lengthy illness.
 
 
 Born on February 24, 1938, the daughter of Winfield J. and Velma (Ewens) Mathews, she was born and raised in New Hampton, NH. Eventually Phyllis moved to Plymouth in the 1980's where she has resided up until two years ago when she moved to Meredith, due to her failing health.
 
 
 Phyllis was a giving person who was always helping others. She loved flowers, and cooking, and was always making and giving away fresh bread, or cooking meals for friends and family. She is a beloved sister, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by her family.
 
 
 She is predeceased by her brothers, Patrick and William Mathews, and sister, Marguerite (Mathews) Moses.
 
 
 Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Wanda M. Kovacs and husband Jim, of Meredith; brothers, Philip Mathews and wife Cynthia, of Campton, and Winfield "Sonny" Mathews and wife Jo-Ann, of Campton; half-sisters, Ruth Racette, Rosella Boyce; half-brother, Orin Pittsley; brother, Alva Mathews; two grandchildren, Lona Kovacs, of Kittery, ME, and Kevin Kovacs, of Wolfeboro, NH; four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
