Phyllis Marie Robie

March 28, 1945 — May 26, 2024

ALEXANDRIA----Phyllis M. Robie, 79, of Alexandria, NH gained her angel wings and left this world at home surrounded by her loving family on May 26, 2024.

Phyllis was born on March 28, 1945, in Keene, NH, to the late Lawrence and Beulah Prentice. Lawrence was killed in action in France in November of 1944 and was never able to meet his girl. Phyllis never forgot this sacrifice, supporting many veterans' organizations through the years.

Phyllis attended school in Andover, NH until the 8th grade when her mom fell ill. At that point, she stayed home to care for her two youngest siblings. This began Phyllis' dedication as the caretaker of her family.

Phyllis met the love of her life, Bill Robie, as he was hauling logs past her house in Andover. He came across a car accident in front of Phyllis' family home and had to go back to meet her. They wed on February 3, 1963, and began a 61-year journey together.

Through the years, Bill and Phyllis traveled the country in their camper. Their adventure started when the kids were small in a camper that Bill had built. Over the years they made many friendships through their camping experiences with the Jayco Camping Group, including the Gilman, Lord, and Clay families.

Phyllis was a stay-at-home mom and a homemaker. This was a tireless job for a mother of five. Seeing her family grow and succeed was her reward in life. The role of grandmother was one she viewed as a gift.

Bill and Phyllis welcomed their first son, Lee in July of 1963, followed by Dale in July of 1964, Billy in July of 1965, Brett in April of 1968, and Pam in April of 1973.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her stepfather, Elwin Moses; brother, Lawrence "Jumbo" Prentice; and her step-siblings, Maxine Marlar, Janet Short, and Donald Moses.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, William Robie; four sons, Lee (Claudia) Robie, Dale (Deirdre) Robie, Billy Robie, Brett (Lesley) Robie, all of Alexandria, NH; daughter, Pam (Jim) Pierce of Boscawen, NH; nine grandchildren, Jacqueline Howes, Matthew Robie, Michael Ryan, Bryan (Christina) Broulliard, Olivia Robie, Jillian Robie, Emily Robie, Owen Robie, Jacob Robie; four great-grandchildren; sister, Edith (Jeff) Long; brother, Elwin Moses, Jr.; sister-in-law, Jean Prentice; step-sister, Marge Patten; cousin, Ronald "Junior" Sweeney; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends she considers sisters, Bunny Aliberti and Ellie Clay.
