Philip (Phil) Baldwin left this earth on February 17th, 2021, after a sudden, brief illness, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Born March 18th, 1958 in Charleston, West Virginia, Phil moved to New Hampshire in 2008. He worked for Blacksheep Builders, Inc. during most of his time in New Hampshire, using his many talents of skilled carpentry to complete a variety of projects, both large and small. Phil excelled at interior and exterior painting, was a stickler for detail, and a tireless worker. 'Uncle' Phil, as he was affectionately known by many who knew him, was kind to all, and exuded southern charm and an easy smile. He was the first to lend a hand, share one of his many lunchbox treats, or help a friend in need. He never spoke an ill word of anyone, preferring to maintain his positive outlook, and understood that kindness matters.
His love for pets of any kind was well-known, and he was rarely without a pocket full of treats for whomever he might meet and befriend on a jobsite or as he went about his day. Phil was a true gentleman, and his gentle and warm spirit will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Phil is survived by his sister Pamela Ladeau of Deerfield NH; his partner Lynne Barnelle of Campton, NH, and his three children, Travis, Phillip Jr., and Jessica.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Phil's love for the underserved pets in our area, please consider donating in his name to the NH Humane Society:
