Pearl Dorothy Young

Pearl Dorothy Young, aged 75, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, at her home in Dorchester NH. Pearl was born on December 17th, 1948, in Campton, New Hampshire. She graduated from High School in Ashland, NH May of 1967 and worked at Rochester Shoe Tree for over 20 years. On July 21st1967, Pearl and Richard Young wed and remained married for 57 years, 4 months until her passing. Pearl is survived by her husband Richard M. Young Sr., Son Richard M Young Jr., Daughter Sherrie L Coleman, Son Christopher G Young, Daughter Doris A Jackson, Son Alexander C Young, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Pearl loved three things in life: family, coffee, and Big Macs. She was known for being a spirited individual who was not afraid to speak her mind. She was often heard saying remarks such as “If God is willing and the creek don’t rise” or “aye, aye, aye” while raising her hands up to the ceiling. Pearl enjoyed family trips to Funspot and scratcher tickets. She liked the singing talents of Patsy Cline and Dolly Parton. She would often recount her encounter with Dolly Parton in Canaan, NH back when Dolly was first starting her career out and was shocked to meet a star (5 feet) who was shorter than her (5 foot 3 inches). She was fond of actor John Wayne and adored actor Mark Harmon who remains her celebrity crush for all time. A celebration of life will be held in spring of 2025.
