Pauline E. McIver, 97, of Laconia, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Belknap County Nursing Home, in Laconia, after a lenghty illness.She was born March 23, 1912 in Derby, VT., the daughter of Fred and Hattie (Dorr) Barnard.Pauline graduated from the New York State University at Canton, Class of 1932; she then went on to work as a Dietician and Nutritionist at several hospitals wich include: Stamford, Ct., Fletcher Allen Hospital, of Burlington, VT., and Margaret Pillsbury Hospital, of Concord, NH.Pauline married her husband, Frederick Davis McIver, MD, in 1936, shortly after they were married he left to join the Army, and fought valliantly for his country in WWII, he achieved the rank of Captain, and was based out of Ft. Drum, NY. Pauline and Frederick were absoloutly devoted to one another.Pauline was a member of the Newport Eastside Baptist Church, of Newport, VT., where she was an organist and piano player. When she was living in Plymouth, her life was centered on the Plymouth United Methodist Church, she was a trustee for many years, and was involved with every aspect of the church.She is predeceased by her beloved husband Frederick Davis McIver, MD, on February 6, 2003; and a daughter, Ann C. Sidney, in 2001.Pauline is survived by her son, Neil McIver, of Plymouth; five grandchildren, Deven McIver and wife Ingrid, of Thornton, Katie L. Moulding and husband Chris, of Taunton, MA, Colin A. McIver, of Plymouth, Grant Sidney of North Hampton, and Jane Sidney-VanHorn, of Hooksett; she is also survived by five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins around the country.Memorials:Donations may be made in Pauline's memory to the Plymouth United Methodist Church, of Plymouth, NHVisitation:A calling hour will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 10:00 am thru 11:00 am at the Plymouth United Methodist Church, Fairgrounds Rd., Plymouth.Service:A funeral service will be conducted in the church following the visitation at 11:00 am. The Rev. Edward J. Charest, pastor, will officiate.Cemetery:Interment will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery, Newport, VT., in the spring.
