Paul Stanislaus Werda, 84, of Tilton, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010, at the NH Veterans Home, of Tilton, after a lengthy illness.Born in Methuen, MA, on May 18, 1926, he was the son of Sabin and Albina H. (Topping) Werda. Paul was raised in Lawrence and attended schools there. Just before his 18th birthday, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served his country with honor in the South Pacific during WWII.Paul worked as a Ford Mechanic with the Regan Ford, Co., of Haverhill, MA and Shawsheen Motor Mart, of Andover, MA, for 50 years. He was a family man whose grandchildren and great-granddaughter were his life.Paul is predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years, Barbara M. (Terry), in 1996.He is survived by his two children, daughter, Carol LeBlanc and husband Kenneth, of Fitchburg, MA, son, Peter Werda and wife Donna, of Laconia; five grandchildren, Ryan and Renee LeBlanc, of Fitchburg, Jennifer Werda and fiancé Nicholas Weatherbee, of Campton, NH, Christine Norian and husband Joseph, of Hooksett, NH, and David Werda and wife Kathryn, of Easton, MA; and a great-granddaughter, Lyla Norian, of Hooksett. Memorials:In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to the NH Veterans Home, 139 Winter St., Tilton, NH 03276, or to a Parkinson's disease foundation.Visitation:A calling hour will be held at Mayhew Funeral Home (Rtes. 3 and 104), Meredith, NH, on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 9 thru 10 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Joseph's Church, Laconia, at 10:30 am, Rev. Marc Druin, pastor, will officiate.Service:Cemetery:An interment ceremony will be held at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Waiverly Rd., N. Andover, at 3:00 pm.
