Paul Cheney Lincoln, 66, of Moultonborough, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on November 29, 2009, after a lengthy illness.Born on June 20, 1943, in Brockton, MA, he was the son of George and Barbara (Chambers) Lincoln. In 1947 he moved with his family to Moultonborough where he was raised.  He attended Brewster Academy.Paul served his country proudly in the US Navy from 1963-1967 as an Electricians Mate. He was also a member of the Merchant Marines where he sailed for two summers as the Chief Electrician onboard Texaco tankers. Paul attended Belknap College from 67 to71 where he received a BS in Meteorology.   From 73 to75 he attended West Virginia University and received a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering. Paul worked for the NH Air Pollution Control Agency from 1972-73.  In 1975, after completing his education in West Virginia, Paul and his family resided in Dayton, Ohio, where he worked as an Air Pollution Control Engineer. In 1978 they moved back to Moultonborough, where Paul had a 26 year career with the State of New Hampshire, most recently managing Superfund sites.  He served on the Moultonborough Conservation Commission for 16 years and as a board member of the Selective Service System for the State of New Hampshire.  Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Patricia (Dunlap) Lincoln, of Moultonborough; a daughter, Jennifer Lincoln; two sons, Brian and wife Jennifer Small, and Christopher Lincoln; a sister, Carole and her husband Robert Elliott; two brothers, Edward and Robert Lincoln; and two grandchildren, Reese and George Lincoln. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.Paul loved Lake Winnipesaukee and spent lots of time at the family camp (Lincoln Islands). He was a sports fan who loved the Red Sox and his Alma Mater team, the West Virginia Mountaineers. Paul was a handyman who loved home projects. He also loved to travel.Memorials:In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to Community Health and Hospice, 780 N. Main St., Laconia, NH 03246Visitation:Calling hours will be held on December 1st, 2009, from 6 to 8pm at the Mayhew Funeral Home, Rtes. 3 and 104, Meredith.Service:A Funeral Service will be held on December 2nd, 2009 at 11:00 am. The Rev. Edward J. Charest, pastor of the Plymouth United Methodist Church will officiate.
