NEW HAMPTON --- Olaf Bert Taylor, 86, passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on Sunday December 28, 2014.
Olaf was born in New Hampton, New Hampshire on December 8, 1928 the son of Bertie George Taylor and Blanche (Boynton) Taylor.
Olaf went to school at the little red school house in New Hampton, then onto high school in Bristol, before entering the United States Marine Corp in 1946. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in 1951. Olaf married his wife, Marjorie (Bolduc) Taylor on April 11, 1949. After serving his country, Olaf went to work at the Woolen Mill in Ashland for 14 years, and then to Ambrose construction until his retirement in 1996. Olaf will be lovingly remembered by his family as a man who loved spending quality family time. He loved hunting and fishing, an avid outdoorsman, going to the North Country to the family camp in Colebrook, New Hampshire.
Olaf is predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie Taylor in 2007, and their son Michael Taylor, in 2009.
Olaf is survived by his two daughters; Sandra Ambrose of New Hampton, NH, Jackie Dorge of New Hampton, NH and a son Ken Taylor of North Umberland, NH and a sister Olga Morgan of Bethel, ME, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
