CENTER HARBOR --- Normand R. Savoie Sr, Big Norm, 74, made his final transition the morning of December 28, 2025, after a very sudden decline in his health.
Normand was born on August 20,1951 in Manchester, NH, to his loving parents Yvette T. (Biron) and Roger J. Savoie. He was the eldest of 7 children. Sisters Irene, Elaine and Claire. Brothers Paul, Roger and Raymond.
Normand's Catholic foundation began at St. Theresa Church alongside his family. He strengthened that belief there with his children Normand Jr, Jess and Erica. He held his faith close until he entered into eternal rest.
Normand had a thirst for knowledge; after attending Memorial High he eagerly studied mechanical engineering and quality control at NH Community Technical College and the University of Lowell. At times, he would take night classes while working and providing for his family. He was a lifelong learner and retired as a quality control manager for a sheet metal shop in Seabrook. Normand was proud of his education.
Normand was passionate about enjoying God's creation outdoors and embraced his life after retirement at his son's campground in Center Harbor, Savoie's Lodging. Together for the last 20 years, Big Norm and Little Norm welcomed guests from all over the world. Normand touched the lives of many at Savoie's with his profound sense of humor, an uncanny ability to connect with just about anyone and a rare gift of building community. He will be missed by the campfire.
Family was important to Normand. He loved camping with his grandchildren (Levi, Riley, Jolie, Emma and Tori), Christmas at his daughter's, trips to Florida to visit Irene and Paul, time spent with daughter-in-law (Suzanne) and all the family gatherings at Memere's house. His loss will be mourned by his family (brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts) and his many friends.
In Paradise, Normand is reuniting with all that passed before him. A glorious reunion with his mother, his father and a very special son-in-law, Jaime Sanborn, who Normand loved and will now look after him as his son did here.
A private ceremony will take place with plans for a large celebration for Normand at Savoie's Lodging in August for all that knew and loved him.
