Nancy Walrath

June 28, 1935 — April 16, 2013

Nancy Walrath, 77, of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Golden View Health Care Center, in Meredith after a two year battle with brain cancer and long struggle with rheumatoid arthritis.

Born in Buffalo, NY on June 28, 1935, she was the daughter of Robert H. and Loraine (Escott) Meyer. Nancy grew up in western New York and graduated from the Alfred State College in 1955.

Nancy moved to New Hampshire with her husband Thomas D. Walrath from Hamburg, NY in 1971 to help start the Pennysaver. She was the Pennysaver's bookkeeper. An avid reader, Nancy has read over 15,000 books throughout her lifetime. She was a long-term member of P.E.O. International, and the Business and Professional Women's Foundation. She also contributed time to the Young Ladies Library Association, of Plymouth, and the Supervisors of the Checklist, in Plymouth.

Nancy was a life-long New England sports fan who enjoyed the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and watching tennis matches. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Alpha Beta Chi sorority (Alfred State College), and truly loved meeting her friends for the Bridge Club. She is a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.

Nancy is predeceased by her parents and her grandmother, Laura Escott.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Thomas D. Walrath, of Plymouth; sons, David Walrath and wife Yulia, of Plymouth, Peter Walrath and wife Yasmine, of Cerritos, CA; daughter, Seuzan Rabert and husband Arthur, of Manchester; four grandchildren, Sophia, Sarah, Lauren, and Sean; sister, Joan Armstrong, of Valparaiso, Indiana; brother, Robert Meyer, of Orlando, FL.
