Morton Maurice Moses, 94, of Smith Road, Holderness, NH. died on January 23, 2018 at his home.
Born in Dorchester, NH. on June 6, 1923, he was the son of William and Lillian (Goss) Moses.
Morton grew up in the Dorchester and Rumney area. He resided in the Pemi-Baker Valley for many years before moving to Franklin, NH. in 1989 and then to Lewisburg, TN., in 2006. He moved back to Holderness last year.
IAs a young man, Morton worked, for many years, his father at the family sawmill in West Rumney, NH. He worked for over twenty years as a laborer for E.D. Swett Construction Company in Concord, NH. until his retirement in 1985.
Morton was a World War II US Army veteran and a life member of the Franklin VFW Post 1698.
Morton was predeceased by his wife Marguerite (Mathews) Moses, who died in 1997, two sons, Stewart who died in 2001 and Stephen, who died in 1970.
Morton is survived by his children, Edward M. Moses of Bristol, NH, Joyce A. Nutting of Holderness, NH, Melody M. Mason of Ashland, NH., Betty Shanks and William Moses, both of Rumney, Wanda Moses of Concord, NH, Velma Papkey of Virginia, Michael Moses and Raymond Moses, both of Canterbury, NH, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St. Plymouth, on Friday, Jan. 26th, 5pm to 7pm. A funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 27th, at 11am. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, West Rumney, on Monday, May 14th, at 11am.
