Millie M. (Flanders) Avery, 75, of West Campton, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Laconia Genesis Eldercare Center, of Laconia, after a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.She was born March 14, 1934 to Clarence C. and Gladys (Chase) Flanders in Holderness, NH. She grew up in the Holderness - Plymouth area and graduated from Plymouth High School, Class of 1953.Millie worked at International Packing Corp. in Bristol for several years before marrying Harold W. Avery, a logger, and moving to West Campton. The family operated several stables, The Gateway Stable, Cold Spring Stable, Mittersill Stable, and Avery's Riding Stable.Millie enjoyed her grandchildren, horseback riding, and picture taking and made many friends while at Laconia Center.Millie was predeceased by her husband, Harold W. Avery in 1986 and her brother, Lawrence L. Flanders in 2000.She is survived by her sister, Edith P. Flanders, of Newport, NH; two sons, Wesley H. Avery and wife Cathy, of West Campton, Lincoln S. Burnham, of Charlestown, NH; two daughters, Sandra Flanders Swain and her husband Mark, of Thornton, Linda Fraser and her husband Bob, of Thornton; four grandchildren, Holly Fraser, of Mansfield, MA, Amanda Flanders, of N. Woodstock, NH, Tyler Ray, of Thornton, and Brianna Burnham, of Charlestown, NH.Memorials:In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.Service:A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery (by the Smith Bridge) in Plymouth, NH.
