Michele Lynn Pruyn

Michele Lynn Pruyn, PhD, 44, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Speare Memorial Hospital, in Plymouth, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 17, 1971, she was the daughter of George William and Jill Ida (Zderadicka) Pruyn. Michele was raised in Schaumburg, IL attending local schools. She furthered her education earning her Bachelor's Degree in Science from the University of Chicago, her Master's Degree in Science from Michigan State University, and her PhD (Doctorate in Science) from Oregon State University.
After earning her PhD and serving as a Post Doc at Oregon State she relocated to Plymouth, NH, where she became a member of the faculty at Plymouth State University as a Professor in Plant Biology.
She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother and wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and a dear friend and colleague to many.
Michele was the mother of two beautiful boys, Thomas James (T.J.) McGeary, III, and Charles William McGeary, both of Plymouth; she is survived by her husband of 12 years, Thomas Michael McGeary, of Plymouth; her parents, George and Jill Pruyn, of Ft. Myers, FL; sister, Kirstin Pruyn, of Pleasant Prairie, WI; brother, David Pruyn and wife Shannon, of Schaumburg, IL; mother-in-law, Rosemary McGeary, of Westfield, NJ; sister-in-laws, Kerry Anne McGeary and husband Marc Schulberg, of Skillman, NJ, and Kathleen Umphred and husband William, of Barrington, IL; several nieces and a nephew, Maura, Kelly, Lindsay, Aliza, and Cole; and many other extended family members.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you to please consider contributing to an education fund for her sons. Education Fund for Thomas James McGeary III and Charles William McGeary, C/O Northeast Credit Union, P.O. Box 146, Plymouth, NH 03264.
