MEREDITH --- Michael Cavic, 89, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on May 13, 1935, in Bedford, Massachusetts, Michael lived a life filled with love, adventure, and an undeniable zest for life.
Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where his deep love for airplanes and flying first took flight. After earning his pilot's license in 1962, he spent countless hours soaring the skies of New England, a passion that remained a part of him throughout his life.
Following his military service, Michael enjoyed a successful career in sales, retiring after many years of dedicated work. In his retirement, he found joy in spending time with his cherished family and friends, and his love for his Church was a constant source of strength and comfort.
A natural storyteller, Michael had a remarkable ability to recall every detail of his life from youth to present day, captivating those around him with his stories. He loved food, especially recipes passed down through his Serbian heritage, and was known for his talent in the kitchen. Michael’s gift of gab meant he could strike up a conversation with anyone, often engaging in long, meaningful discussions on a variety of topics.
Michael was predeceased by his brothers, George and Nicholas, and his sisters, Dorothy, Elizabeth and Mary. He is survived by his four children, Michael, Mark, Matthew, and Michelle, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom he adored.
Michael will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warmth, humor, and presence will never be forgotten.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM at New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DAV: Disabled American Veterans.
