Meredith Sherman, 87, died November 8th, 2023, with her family by her side in Meredith, New Hampshire.
She was born April 17, 1936, in Lancaster, New Hampshire to Herbert and Christine Lewis. Meredith married Dean Sherman of Lancaster on June 29, 1957, and moved to Plymouth, New Hampshire in 1964.
Meredith spent summers camping at Cogwood Campground in Bridgewater and traveling to Alaska and much of Canada. Winters consisted of Snowmobiling and Puzzles. Of course, her Knitting was a year-round hobby. She graduated from Lancaster High School and went onto Nursing School at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, New Hampshire. After graduating Nursing School, she worked at Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, Sceva Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, and then at Plymouth State College Infirmary until her retirement.
She was an active member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Meredith was a Girl Scout leader for many years in Plymouth, New Hampshire.
Meredith is survived by Dean, her husband of 66 years. Daughter, Andrea Samaha and Louis of Plymouth, Grandson Norman Samaha and Granddaughter Amy Samaha. Daughter, Christine Weden and Scott of Plymouth, Granddaughter Amanda Bailey and Mike and Helen, Grandson, Michael Weden and Laurian and Isabell. Son, Craig Sherman and Tina Walker of Sunapee and McCartney and McHale Cahill. Sisters Letty Gonthier and Barbara Verdone and nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and Sister Melody Chartier.
Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, November 15th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Mayhew Funeral Home on 12 Langdon Street in Plymouth, New Hampshire. The family will have a Graveside Burial at a later date.
