Maxie Lorraine Delaney

Maxie Lorraine (Rogers) Delaney, 91, of Rumney, NH. died March 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family, after a period of failing health.

Born in Grafton, WV, on August 9, 1926, she was the daughter of Luther F. and Ada (Poe) Rogers.

Maxie grew up in Grafton where she graduated from Grafton High School, Grafton, WV. She resided in Danielson, CT for many years and has been a resident of Rumney since 1963.

Maxie was an ordained United Methodist minister serving the Methodist church in Uxbridge, MA for several years. She also was a supply pastor for many area churches in both MA and NH.

Maxie was more then a minister, she was a 'pastor'. She was tireless in her willingness to help those around her. Her love and acceptance for everyone, especially children, was evident in how she lived her life. Maxie's faith in her Lord guided her throughout her life, even in her finals days.

Maxie was predeceased by her husband of sixty-nine years, George Basil Delaney, who died in October of 2015, her daughter, Chris Ann Davis, who died in 1996, an infant son, Richard Wayne, four sisters and two brothers.

Maxie is survived by her daughter, Cathy L. Day and her husband John of Rumney, her grandchildren, William A. Cote, Jeremy J. Cote, Rebecca J. Robinson, Vanessa M. Garcia, Katy L. Cote, John K. Day, Lindsey K. Jackson, Gillian Hoyt, thirteen great grandchildren, two brothers, Marvin and David Rogers, many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St, Plymouth, on Monday, Mar. 19th, from 6pm to 8pm. A funeral service will be held in the Rumney Baptist Church, 375 Main St, Rumney on Tuesday, Mar. 20th, at 11am. Spring Burial will be held in the Highland Cemetery, Quincy Road, Rumney, on Monday, May 14th, at 10am.
