Maureen E. Mustapha, 91, passed away Thursday, August 10th, 2023, at Concord Hospital - Laconia.
Maureen was born April 23, 1932, in New York City, to the late John and Margaret (Delaney) O'Brien.
Maureen graduated from Sacred Heart of Mary high school in Manhattan and attended Our Lady of the Elms in Chicopee, MA. She founded the hatwear company The Mews in 1972 in Conway, NH and ran the business until her retirement in 1999. She spent her time traveling, volunteering at the library, spinning and knitting, and spending time with her family on "The Island."
Maureen is predeceased by her brother John O'Brien and her husband Francis "Bud" Mustapha, to whom she was married for 55 years. She is survived by her six children: Kert Mustapha, Bryan Mustapha, Siobhan Schmeelk, Doon Ames and her husband Bob, Deaglan Mustapha, and Morgan Mustapha and his wife Anne-Marie, thirteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Mayhew Funeral Home 204 Daniel Webster Highway, Meredith, NH.
Burial will follow the calling hours at Shannon Cemetery in Moultonborough, NH.
