Matilee Ann (Chris) Christman died peacefully on October 12, 2024, at Goldenview Healthcare Center in Meredith. Chris was born West Lebanon, NH April 23, 1931. She Graduated St. Johnsbury Academy. She moved to Des Plaines, IL, where she worked for Capital Airlines. In 1954 she joined the WAVES and served during the Korean Conflict. Upon return, she worked for United Airlines before joining Kraft foods where she worked as Research Chemist until her retirement.
Chris was a lover of Nature and animals. She moved to Longmont CO to a farm, where she enjoyed caring for her horses, cats, dogs and her donkey.
Chris was also a runner and raced competitively in canoes and kayaks. She was especially proud that she qualified for and ran the Boston Marathon on her 65th Birthday.
She resettled in Thorton in 2009 to her log cabin in Sugar Run to be near her adopted family. She enjoyed the country life with her four-legged companions, her new friends in Thornton, where she was a member of Campton Congregational Church.
Chris was predeceased by her mother, Merle Grey. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private. A luncheon for close friends will be held at a later date.
